BBC NEWS | Search site aims to rival Google Why is Cuil getting so much attention compared to every other shitty startup search engine? “Cuil … says it uses more than 120 billion webpages to build up its index of the information it finds on the web.” And not one of those pages contained the word “Jonic”.. I’m no egotesticle enough to believe that I have “personal brand ubiquity” or whatever shitcocks are calling it these days, but it’s a fairly uncommon word, and it’s not like Google doesn’t know about me.. I just don’t get where all this attention has come from.. Not even Microsoft or Yahoo! can rival The Googol.. What hope in hell have these guys got? I’m not necessarily saying that because they’re not Google they shouldn’t be paid any attention, I’m just puzzled why this one has caused such a foofaraw over the other thousands of shitty search engines..
